WHY SHOULD WE SNEAK UP ?
Written By Rajeevan K Maruthumkal

Those who
have been in
wilting
for years

Those who
are afraid of the darkness

You who love darkness

Those who
did cook
in the dark

Those who
expatiated
old stories
in dark

Those who
whimpered
on lost privilege

We wept
in deep
darkness unseen

The fullmoon
the hue of expectation !

Those who sang the song with
*Karu and *Maram

The melody
in their song
was an image of darkness.

We were coated
in black,
despite the
hardships of hard work.

When we
embrace
the darkness

Darkness
erased our
history.

That is why
we do not
blame the
darkness,

otherwise the darkness
will be
guilty

And
we will be
innocent
escaped !

*Karu and Mariam are instruments for rhythm , which used indigenous peoples in Kerala .
