To My Mother – A Poem Written by Kalipada Ghosh

To My Mother

Written by Kalipada Ghosh

I pay my deep respect and pronam to all mothers of the world.

Gone are those days
When I was in my mother’s breast
Whining weeping
and not whimpering and whinnying.

Mother, you are no more in us
when I was one and a half
toddling and crawling…
You are in heaven
being a bright and luminous star
Scintillating brightly in the Cosmos
Pouring blessings and benediction
Upon me and around.

Mother, you have left for the other world
Your vision still haunts me like a Shadow
Your benign love affection sacrifice mercy and dedication nobility forgiveness
forbearance and fortitude – an inspiration
A perfect woman with motherliness.

Your angelic grace and charm
I’ve kept it in my heart .

A sweet nostalgic reminiscence
still lingering in my mind and soul
