Scattered Colors is a superb collection of poems written by award-winning Timothy Payton.
The attractive cover and the well-known name of the talented author can lure anyone to purchase the book.
Timothy has conveyed in his poetry, expressions of life, family, heartbreak, and love.
Each poem is expertly written and easy to read.
I loved them all.
The one that outstands for me is the very first one dedicated to the authorโ€™s mother.
I will quote the first verse of the poem.
“To the one person that held me tight since birth,
Who’s taught me right from wrong for all its worth.
Who stood by me and despite my choices or decisions,
Yet always gave me advice on time like precision.”
The love and devotion the author expressed for his mother was admirable.
I highly recommend the book to all readers.

This book is beautiful on the outside, it’s the size of a notebook, which makes it easy to read. The poems are brilliantly written. You can tell they come from the poet’s heart. If you have a love of poetry, this is a perfect book for you. It would also make a great gift for that hard to buy for person.

Amusement from an insightful poet

I got this book three days back. Timothy Payton is known as Mr Poetry around the circle of writers. He invokes passion in writing poems that clearly reflects his day to day obsevation. When I read this book, it was very different poems from the ones he shared with all of us through social media. I was hooked onto the book and amused at the ways the world has been viewed by Timothy. A clear definition of insight and amusement was seen throughout the book. Itโ€™s difficult to say which poem was better than the other. Thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every poem and look forward to more poetic or literary wonder from this author. Thanks for such remarkable pieces of creativity. Scattered Colors did make my day.

Scattered Colors captures the essence of life experience through evocative imagery. To appreciate the core of the poetโ€™s intention, a segmented or piecemeal reading of each poem in the collection is recommended to appreciate and understand the extent of the emotions behind the words โ€” each word is delicately crafted yet intense โ€” a must have keepsake collection in lifeโ€™s quest for meaning.

A review on Scattered Colors, a collection of poems by Timothy Payton

Yes, that’s what it is, Scattered Colors! A collection of poems depicting various emotions of the human mind.

Diving deeper into each touching poem written by Timothy Payton
We can feel that the life, he has covered in these poems is not only that of himself but of many different individuals. To be in someone else’s shoes and feeling his emotion with a matching intensity as well as to pen it beautifully in its essence, is a wonderful skill and Payton has effectively displayed the same through his poetry collection.

The collection begins with a poem dedicated to the Poet’s mother, titled, “To the one” and is one of the most beautiful among the 50 poems.

Let me highlight a few verses which touched my soul from the whole collection.

The one poem, which I feel each one of us in this forum can relate to, is, “An idea is born”. I could visualize a poetess (i.e. me) transforming into a ballerina, swiftly moving to the lovely music of poetic ink, which flows through my mind, while an idea is born. The beautiful poem flows like this,

“Flowing through the crevices of your inner thoughts and being,

Into the waters of the subconscious.

Swimming into the core of feelings and free will.”

We get a fair glimpse of the poet’s view regarding human nature in the poems, “Realities” & “Ever After”.

Let me quote an impressive line from the poem “Realities”,

“People I’m supposed to see equal,

All seem to be in different realities.”

And the magnificent lines from “Ever After”,

“People are like autumn leaves, falling off and crumble”

As you go through the many poems in the collection, you can see that the Poet has painted many truths of life. Also, you can sense some kind of transformation happening in the poet’s life, pointing more towards spirituality. It is totally amazing the way his mind works. The spiritual awakening, the phases he is going through, the pain and the joy of life, the feelings, etc are very vividly penned in the poems, *”Awoken”, “Trapped within personal freedom”, “Untitled”, “Rains of life”, “Time of Revelation” *etc. After going through all these poems, one wonders how one can have such deep realization and understanding about life, the living and the spirit.

Though, each and every poem is beautiful and touching, the second last poem of the collection, โ€œSoul Hands” is my personal favorite.

Reading poems is an experience and even more enthralling if you can relate to it. That’s what I experienced while I went through this book. I lost myself in the poetic pond of true emotions.

While, I stand in my Kitchen cocoon, doing my household chores, I recite these lines,

“To feelโ€ฆ

To feel you’re someone.

To feel you have a voice.

To feel alive.

To feel what’s in life.

Just to feel.”

Yesโ€ฆthe very real lines from the poem “Feel” of his collection of poetry, “Scattered Colors”.

Dear friends, I vouch for Timothy Payton’s Scattered Colors as an engaging read for all lovers of emotional poetry.
