Rain – A Poem Written by Priyalakshmi Gogoi

Written by Priyalakshmi Gogoi

Pitter Patter raindrops
Where have you been so long?
You know I hate this scorching heat,
And I can’t sing my favourite song!

You send me so much calmness
And I love the fun you give,
You bring smiles to me
Happiness in abundance from you I receive.

I love to dance in the rain
And shake a leg here and shake a leg there,
The flowers dance to the rainy beats
As I take a walk on the grass with my feet bare.

And when it’s time for you to leave
You plant kisses on my cheek
My heart is all happy as it sings
“You are beautiful dearie, into your soul take a peek”.

So rain rain please come to me
Wherever you are,
I will be waiting for you with open arms
Ready to dance in another shower.
