Leaving Yesterday Behind – A Poem Written by Richie Eghaghe

Leaving Yesterday Behind

Written by Richie Eghaghe

Leaving yesterday behind-
weaving a patch around a
torn and broken heart.
Getting a strong grip on a
stronghold,
learning from turbulent
heaving season of sore-strait.
.
Leaving yesterday behind-
mending the bruises from
emotion’s ill-cruises,
fixing broken and tattered wings,
causing spattered dreams to live,
combating pain grip on our fallen flesh.
.
Searching for love and light with our tired turbid eyes,
living each day with the fulfilment
of a whole life time,
living each day as if it’s the last day.
With eyes focused on the prize,
leaving yesterday behind
