Jealous.

by Lena Power

Jealous.

Jealous of the grass you lie on
The Sun that caresses your skin
Anything that touches your lips
I envy the air you breathe in.

Hate the sheets that keep you covered
The bubbles in which you submerge
The water that knows all of you
Every moan that’s not by me heard.

Couldn’t be in love more deeply
Never have I wanted so much
To lose myself so completely
I’m just a beggar for your touch.

Won’t you let me be your blanket
Through snow storms and bitter seasons?
I will massage your frozen joints
Love for you my only reason.
