Broken Heart – A Poem Written by Newman Kuol

Broken Heart

Written by Newman Kuol

In the long dark night,
My heart bleeds
My soul mourn like a dove,
And my spirit rest not

On that brighter day,
When I set my eyes on you,
You were too bright and brighter,
That I lose my sights

I searched for you,
And see you not,
Dream I thought it was,
And yes! It was true you disappeared
And both day and night were darkened.

You digged out my heart,
With your sweet words,
Smoother than oil
And sweeter than Honey.
I honestly give it to you.
Smilingly you throw it away,
Very far away from myself
In a thorny ground it rest.

I mourn for my heart,
But you pick a sword,
And you divide it more,
Yes! More and more you divide it,
My heart bleeds,
And you never care.

Everything turn out to be tears,
Salty as I tasted them,
I let them roll down to my heart,
Hoping they will heal it
But bitterly my heart pain and bleeds more.

How could you not hear my voice?
How could you not see my tears
When I’m almost drowning?
How could you not see my BROKEN HEART?
