April Weather – a poem written by Barbara Ehrentreu

April Weather

April weather can fool you
When you open your eyes it is sunny
and you think of walking to view
the budding crocus and the green shoots of new tulips bursting through
the ground to blossom
bringing joy to all who have thought of Spring while closed up in their homes
dreaming of the exciting day they would walk on the new green grass and view the elegant budding flowers.

Then as you walk outside the gray clouds gather and thunder rips through the sky with its partner lightening
flashing a warning to go back inside
The flowers will be there tomorrow but
showers have spoiled your first free day.
