A Poet

by Srinivas Vasudev

A Poet

A poet unveils himself
As he treads in his poetry
Who has the right to define a poet?
Except for the nouns and verbs
Or his emotions
Does his heart beat in mother tongue
Or it simply divulges in human empathy?
Flowers of love blossomed here in your poetry
Spreading the whisks of perfume
In turn, you will sing
the glory of scented letters
Stunning a surprise around you
Even the wind here tingles itself
To touch your composition
Kudos to the poet in you,
erasing all boundaries
the sweet-scented player of words
Welcome to the world of letters!
My dear Poet, welcome to the world
World of letters and world of suffering
